There are two types of insurance that are similar, but different. These two types of insurance are available to you if you do not have a Group Health Plan or qualify for a government insurance program such as Medicare, Medicaid, or Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides health coverage to eligible children, through both Medicaid and separate CHIP programs. CHIP is administered by the state, in accordance with federal requirements. The program is funded by the state and federal government.
